Leupold 8.5x25x50 VX3 or Mark4

Leupold 8.5x25x50 VX3 or Mark4?????

Some of us have looked into the LASH problems and unstable tracking....
Is the Mark4 having the same problems ?
Is the Mark4 $1695 price worth the difference of $900 for VX3?

I emailed Leupold about 6 months ago asking, what are the differences between the VX III 8.5-25X-50mm Long Range Target vs. the Mark 4 8.5-25X-50mm Long Range/Tactical, and the answer I got was, " the ONLY difference between the 2 is the turrets & turret housing, and no gold ring on the Mark 4." I asked if the lens were the same, and the reply I got was, "they are EXACTLY the same". The Leupold rep. said the Mark 4 turrets are bigger/heavier/stronger than the VX III, and that was the only difference. I printed the email response I got to show someone I know, who insists that the Mark 4 lens are a better quality of glass than the VX III. This is what I was told by a Leupold Rep. I don't know if its true or not. I do know that according to Leupolds website, the Mark 4's magnification is SLIGHTLY greater than the VX III, but the VX III has MORE MOA adjustment for elevation than the Mark 4. ????

Thanks for the advise for it is most helpful.

Weight will be a problem for this scope is for AR tube gun...so the loope may have to do...."Darn"as long as loope have been doing these "WHY"can't they it right.

I have a 6x20 setting in box that has made 3 trips to Leupold and still has group movement.Warrenty is meaningless if product can't be fixed right.
