SELLING Leupold 1” Vari-X3 1.5 x 5 x 20mm

Leupold began transitioning from friction to click adjustments primarily in the
mid-1970s to early 1980s, with major, standardized shifts occurring by 1984 across their main lines. The Vari-X III series introduced clicks in 1974, while the Vari-X II was upgraded to 1/4 MOA clicks by 1984.
  • Vari-X III (1974): Introduced 1/4 MOA click adjustments.
  • Vari-X II (1984): Upgraded from friction to 1/4 MOA click adjustments.
  • Final Phase (2001-2005): The introduction of the VX-II/VX-III (2001) and FX series (2005) solidified click adjustments across all standard, modern Leupold models.
Prior to 1974, most models used a "friction" system requiring a coin or screwdriver for smooth, non-clicking adjustments.
