There was a man that, IIRC, made race car parts, maybe a machinist?
He was "reloading rim fire rounds" and using different 20 caliber center fire bullets?
He made special shell holders and dies to reform the rim fire case necks.
Pulled the bullets, reformed the cases and used the same powder over again.
Had a couple of rifle projects with different bore barrels and maybe different chamber reamers for his remade ammo and it looked to come out pretty good.
Maybe from the Indiana area?
Seems like right off someone mentioned,
"It'll never work, different size bullets, wrong bore size, etc. bla bla" rolleyes:)
BUT, it did and from what I remember, seemed to come out REAL GOOD.
Rattle that Grey Matter (put on those thinking caps :p) and see if any of you can remember something about it.
Seems like I may have had his contact information at one time but never followed thru.:(

You might find info over @ Saubier forum/ small caliber.
There have been more than one I believe.
When I got my .14 Walker Hornet there was at least one guy supplying a die set to neck down 22’s and shoot jacketed bullets around 10-12 grains over same powder in a now .14.
I think somebody also did a .12, which faded fast because of barrel availability.
Barrel maker Jeff Lawerence even did a couple .10 caliber barrels, but those faded fast.
The 22 version may be reviewed in the Bill Eichelberger (sp) 14 caliber book.

I posted the question on Saubier.com. and BINGO!! Someone remembered it and posted a link. Can't believe it was 6 years ago. Time sure fly's when you're having fun. Something about that rim fire case with a 20 caliber "pointed bullet" stuffed in it that I like.

I still think I saw something about this and it WASN'T 6 years ago. Maybe a year and a half, maybe 2 at most and "he" mentioned something about him having custom dies and shell holders available. I know I'am getting "older" but, not THAT old.;)
