Lehigh Bullets

Wanted to advise everyone if you are attempting to do business with Lehigh Bullets be careful. I bought some of the .458- 528 grn. turned solids for use in the 460 Steyr back earlier this summer. They did not complete the order as they said they were out of the bullets and sent me an incomplete order stating that they would be in stock in August and would send what they owed to complete the order. These bullets are not cheap and they took the money without fulfilling the order completely. August came and went to no avail. The bullets are still listed as out of stock on their web site. Repeated calls and e-mails have gone unanswered.

Sir, I'm sorry that you are having a problem. Have you sent them a certified letter. I just called them and they answered. I also see that this is your first post. Photos of your Steyr?

I not only shoot their bullets for short range subsonic hunting, but in my carry pistols also. Bought from them many of times, and never had an issue. I also find this interesting post for a first time poster.

I've ordered bullets from Lehigh. My experience was the opposite of yours. They shipped my order a couple hours after it was placed, gave me good info like invoice and tracking number.

Your experience does not even sound like it could be from the same company.

Makes you wonder. Only one post and no replies. Yup, I wonder.
Hasn't been on since he posted. IMHO not the way to settle a problem. Then not to bother to follow up on the thread. Did not give a location where he is from. Good candidate for the ignore feature.

Just out of curiosity did any of you guys call Dave

Past performance is no indication of future performance

All good guys may struggle or when a business goes under past performance was no indication was it

No dog in the hunt just seems odd as you say but no one has current info do they just sayin

I have not sent a letter. I have e-mailed and called without response. I have had several orders with them without issues and since August nothing.

Have been very busy with work. I was not attempting to settle a problem by the posting but rather just putting it out there that they have not ben responding after I have purchased many orders from them and they had gone dark.

I previously had good response from them as well and since August they have not replied and they continue to show on their site that those bullets are not in stock. My inquiries have gone unanswered both by phone and e-mail. I put the post up as an advisory because many times when these things happen it is an indication of a problem in the company.

I tried contacting them a few times since your original post. Tried 10 minutes ago. I have yet to receive a response to my phone calls and email.

I might suggest a little different theory, if I may...

I'm sure everyone has read about the King of 2 Miles shoot held a few months ago. It was covered in the bulletin at least twice. Within the context of the shoot there was a discussion of the development of the long for caliber solid bullets which were being used in this format. The solids were viewed in a very positive light as discussed.

Unfortunately for the makers, this usually heralds a massive increase in demand and usually all at once since everyone wants to get on the same bandwagon next year. I'm betting that they are so busy that they can't even see straight let alone have a spare minute to themselves. They're probably running at top speed trying desperately to deliver what has been ordered in a vaguely 'on-time' framework or worse, late.

Telephones and e-mails are the single two most time wasting contacts that a gunsmith or bullet maker can allow. It's not that either is bad per se, but the time each one takes to resolve is out of proportion to the what can be accomplished without attending to either one. I know it sounds awful to let folks know that their chosen form of communication is interfering with their supplier's work load but sometimes it has to be expressed. When it comes down to delivering what has been ordered already or taking more orders by phone or e-mail, exacerbating the continuing situation, the choice is usually to ignore both. And no, not every business can afford to hire an experienced person to handle technical phone sales.

Regards.

The demand for BIB bullets is huge. However, whenever you call Randy, he finds the time to answer your questions and offer advice. He talks on the phone while pulling levers on his presses. As a business, ignoring customers/potential customers, is unacceptable.

When we have a problem, (real or imagined) how do you purpose a person gets in touch with the other party involved?
