Lee Zero Error Target Loader

Hi, I like 308 target shooting, palma. I like the idea of the Lee Zero Error Target Loader, but this was discontinued many years ago. Am I right in thinking that I can cobble together the same functionality by getting a conventional 308 lee loader, a lee case length gauge and a lee case conditioning combo? Regards Mark

I guess it depends on one's definition of "cobble"?

Not being a smartarse either..... part of the equation on getting "straight,well fitted ammo" is the attention,or willingness to address certain fundamental alignment processes. What one shop specializes in can be significantly outside reasonable expectations for the next.... just sayin.

Got one, well the Lee Target model kit with the inside neck reamer and I can tell you without a tight spec'ed neck chamber...........forget it. (Anshutz sporter)
Could never get decent accuracy from any cases once they'd been inside neck reamed so went to using conventional dies with unmolested brass and instantly better than halved groups using the same load.
Great concept but needs the right chamber neck dimensions to make it work.

BTW, what is standard neck dimensions for Palma chambers ?
Is it different for 7.62/308 ?

Gidday homerange, the inside neck reamer had me thinking, why. I think I'll just stick to using good brass. As far as I know there is nothing special about a Palma chamber compared to a 7.62 x 51. Palma denotes the type of match that is shot, (15 counting shots at 800, 900, 1000 yards from a team of 16 from a country). All of which is done with a special 155 grain projectile

No. As said above, the case neck is held in the die while reaming. After reaming there is light neck tension, about .001"

I had 30-06 & 243 Win in the target model.

The Lee cutter may be useful to remove a donut from fired brass. The die would not be used. Making a rough cut, before outside neck turning to a final finish neck wall diameter.

Sold mine a while ago, that i bought new, back in the day.

Lee and “target” or “precision” do not go together. All this does is lessen your neck tension which is a good thing most times... but if yours isnt one of those times then you just ruined those cases (unless you have a bushing die, in which case you wouldnt be looking at this kit in the first place)
