Lee Trim Gauge Question

After running my 270 win brass through the Sinclair expander mandrel die, i tried to trim the case to length with the Lee case length gauge, only to find out the case gauge is either too thick, or the expander mandrel is too narrow, not allowing me to run the case up to the cutter on my drill press. Each measures ok.
Im guessing I need to take some emery cloth to the outside of the case length gauge. Any thoughts? Thank you.

You've got it right, OP, the shaft size assumes a fired case, not sized down at all. Even after your Sinclair expander it is still below bullet diameter. I had the same issue with 6mm Rem, so I chucked the shaft in a drill press and used a sanding stick to take it down a few thousandths.
