Lee Powder measure - Perfect or Classic ?

image.jpeg image.jpeg Many people like the Lee powder measure and some are flat amazed how well they work.

If your one of them, is it the Classic or the Perfect model that you like?

Its under rated. Have one and it amazes me how accurate it is. Seams like its better with stick powder then it is ball powders.

Now that said its hard to take myself seriously when using it. Cant get myself to take it to a match so the Harrels gets used there.

The new classic one sound good but i wish it had clicks. Maybe someday i will try one but i think i am just going to duplicate one in the cnc when i get time.

Do You have a Perfect?

Mine is 20+ years old. Ball powder drops dead on every time. Stick powder is a bit less accurate running + or - .1 grain. I rotate the handle up, Tap, Tap on the side of the measure with my hand, then rotate handle down. I'll only deliberately drop a light charge then trickle powder for perfect measurements for 600 and 1000 yard shooting, and only when using stick powder.

I dont have the perfect. For that money i think a Harrells is a better choice for a just a little more money.

The perfect seams to measure so well anyway i see no reason to get a Classic.

One word of advice i will gove is that you mist brak it in. Took me about 4lbs of powder through it to get rid of all static and get it running smooth.

I do not bang or tap. If you have to do that then there are kernals getting hung up on ledges inside. Those can be fixed with sand paper or an exacto knife.

I plan to use this for quick drops to my A&D 120 and trickle up. I couldn't resist a 20$ tool that had great reviews.

I use the perfect measure, and it's as good as any. My reloads are also my "hobby" and I'm in no hurry when I reload, so I intentionally throw a bit light and trickle every charge. If you are OK with .2-.3 variances it is a great measure.

I will see how it works when the Amazon drone drops it on my porch. could be one of the best 20 buck investments for reloading I have made.

it always seems like overkill using a chargemaster 1500 to then trickle up.

only a matter of time until we have drone jacking. geezeo_O

at 20 bucks I can have a few mounted on the bench each set at a different weight.

next to the posts I read where one of our members uses the ad120 scale connected to a motor driven trickler, the lee might give me the added speed getting to the correct weight quicker at a low cost.

I wish it had a better mount than those plastic tabs. I feel like im gonna break it off the base.

Even if they do, you can buy 10 of these and still have money left over from what a Harrell's would cost. After breaking the first one or two you'd figure out how to use it more gently:cool:

I have 2 and have never broken one. Like all lee products they work til you find out theres other companies that make stuff. Ive never seen one at a br match in 20yrs of attending them. Thats what i look at. I dont have a problem with a jones or harrels throwing charges but i know some do

I know and respect this but the BR guys do this with everything. They just throw money at anything they see. It is insulting to them that A true American classic tool can equal the expensive "high quality" over priced stuff they buy. It insults their sense of being. Sorry, but that's the way I see it. How many young guys do you see learning with what they brung at your BR or FT/R match ?? Think about it.
