Lee collet neck die, will a 6.5 creed die work for 6.5x47?

Anyone know if a 6.5 Creedmoor Lee collet neck die will work with 6.5x47 brass. They have stopped making custom dies and id like to try a collet neck die to help fix doughnuts on my 6.5x47 brass. Thanks for the help!

I should add, try to find an older collet die, they changed the design last year so they do not size the case mouth.
You are correct !

As for fixing a donut ?? A collect die will not remove it. The problem
with a collet die is, once you start squeezing on that thicker brass. It's
not giving the best attention to the rest of the neck. Bullet release
will suffer, accuracy goes down the drain.

Right. Im neck turing brass now to remove the doughnut, but Im hoping to use the Collet neck die to keep the doughnut at bay over the next several firings.

From my limited experience..would an expander mandrel not do the same thing? The mandrel in the Lee for my 243 die measures .2415. I used it for neck sizing 243AI, which didn't need a shoulder bump too often, and had turned necks.

I would use a FL size die without the expander ball and then a mandrel to set neck tension. Works every time for me.

Thats what I have been doing in the past, except with a bushing FL die (which is most likely the cause of the doughnut) and even running an expander mandrel does not seen to fix the doughnut. In fact I can feel the expander mandrel hit the doughnut each time I run the brass through.

Im baffled as to why you have doughnuts in your 6.5/47 brass? Is this necked to 6mm?

No it’s straight 6.5x47. The reason it is occurring is that after several firing and sizing cycles using a bushing fl sizer brass gets pushed into and builds up in the small space between the bottom of the bushing and the neck/shoulder junction of the die. It would not be an issue if I was using a standard FL die. Also, because the bullet I shoot is a bit long in the bearing surface, I get interference between the bullet and the doughnut.

I have spotted this potential issue with a Whidden die. I have not really started using it as the rifle is not yet buit, but the bushing does move around. I will have to play with it some more, and maybe secure it in place. ( Not very helpful, sorry)
