You can use a shorter collet die on a longer case by using washers for shims. IF THERE IS ROOM FOR THE SHOULDER Can't go the other way without machining.

A 6mm PPC will work on a 6 BR. A 7-08 Collet die will work on a 7-08AI and a 7x444.

So, have you used a 6mm PPC collet die on a 6x47L or even a .243?

I use a 204R collet die on the shorter 20 Practical case without modification....I think the Ruger case is approx .1" longer than 223

fageddaboudit !! There is only .017" difference between 6BR base to neck/shoulder and 6PPC the 6BR being slightly longer. So a thin 1/2" washer atop the shell holder easily accommodates sizing 6BR in a 6PPC LCD. There is .3019" difference between the 6X47L and the 6PPC base to neck/shoulder the 6X47L being MUCH longer. That's the equivalent of 7.5 each, .040" flat washers necessary to size the 6X47L with a 6PPC LCD while not contacting the shoulder with the collet........ Use a 6X47L bushing die and be done with it
