Have a long time friend that's in the process of a .260 AI build with ODCR. He likes the Lee collet die and was wondering if the parent case die will function properly with the A I version. Any help appreciated.

the lee collett die will work with redding 260ai body die and hornadys 6.5 seater die i use this combo works for me.

Lee will make you a custom collet die for your 260 AI. Their website says, "If you don't see your caliber listed, check out our custom services page." I had them make a custom mandrel for my 260 collet die. Their prices are very reasonable.

I use standard 260 collet die and on260ai order extra mandrels you can reduce there size yourself, to get the neck tension your happy with. working for me.

Yep, just ordered the 260 Rem collet die set and the undersized mandrel for use with thinner wall neck brass just in case he needs it down the road. Thanks for the info from everybody.

I would recommend a regular mandrel in the order in case you don’t like their undersize ones. I think the regular ones are a pretty good starting point but on occasion I have only slightly reduced those without going all the way down to their reduced size.

It is good to have options and keeping at least one original plus having one about 0.0005 to 0.00075 below the original will usually do the trick.

Have been using regular collet dies for AI for years. Just be aware that you may bump the shoulder and change the dimension. I often put a thin washer between shell holder and die, that alleviates the problem.
