lead free bullets?

Looking for bullets for a new 20p build. Seeing several lead free bullets for sale. I have zero experience with lead free bullets. How many are using them? How do they shoot?

Lead free are longer bullets, the rifle has to have the correct twist to stabilize them.....

Lehigh defense is one that has quite a few options.

I use the Nosler 32's lead free. I shoot them in 3 different 11 twist 204 rugers. Very accurate and destructive. Hard to find sometimes.

R-10X, LT32 and X-terminator\AA2230 are good powders to try.

Out of curiosity, are any of the bench rest guys shooting them. Are they competitive? jd

To my knowledge no one is shooting them in short range benchrest, and I seriously doubt that anyone is shooting them in long range competition. I have a little experience with 40 grain Nosler lead free ballistic tips, and they seemed to be very good varmint bullets, as shot from a 12 twist .22-250 barrel. A friend has shot some of the 35 grain version of the same bullet (.201 BC) in a well built 14 twist .222 and has nothing but good to say about them, both with regard to accuracy and terminal performance. We both have short range benchrest competition experience. Previously, friends who had tried other lead free varmint bullets did not report favorably on their accuracy or the reliability of their terminal performance.
