Had a customer call about a week ago and say that a barrel that he had a problem with that was coppering bad that so and so at such and such manufacturer told him the problem was it had been chambered with a Rougher!! WTF. They have a 6 fluted rougher and the former gunsmith must have made a mistake. Texted him an article on the difference of rougher verses finishers and he called back and said he feels foolish that he questioned it and told him there's only one FOOL In this case and it wasn't him he didn't know.
I personally shot the gun with the problem barrel and after it was redone with different manufacturers barrel the second time. We all know that would be impossible to even chamber a round if it was only chambered with a rougher. It was a Savage pre-fit.

I vote for just laughing if you let people that don't know what they're talking about bother you and question what you do know then all you do is waste the times you could be spending doing something you enjoy

These people have a problem with knowing who to believe--ability to sort the wheat from the chaff. If you treat them kindly and professionally, there is a good chance they will start listening to you which will greatly upgrade their knowledge level. --Jerry

Thats a good one. I bought a savage prefit and at first it looked like a copper mine. After about 60 rds it stopped, it doesnt barley copper foul now at all. At first i called the company and they said forget there break in and just shoot it for 60-80 rds. After i did that problem gone.
