lathe tool advice for a newbe

My friend just bought a lathe, and we are going to chamber our own barrels for our bench guns, I think I would like to true remingtons for varmint use. The lathe, few reamers, and some dial indicators is all we have now. My question is where can we get remear holders and jigs to hold the actions. I saw some in mid-way and they may work good but with this investment I want quality. Any advise would be great.

thanks,
anthony

Anthony, May I suggest you get a copy of " The Complete Illustrated Guide to Precision Rifle barrel Fitting"
by John Hinnant.

This will answer all your questions in depth and then some !

Look here at Mikes' articles as well,a wealth of information.

Best place for reamer is PPG david kiff.
Best reamers at reasonable prices. Great people to deal with also. Cutting tools grizzly has quite a few along with other parts and acc. Some are high quailty, some mid priced and some less expensive . There's soming on the grizzly pages for every one. Pacific tool and gauge is one of the sponsor,s here To get grizzly www.grizzly.com then check out the tool catalogue. good luck on your future gunsmithing, it's a fun hobby or business.

Gre-Tan is another place to look for tooling if you want "as good as it gets".. if your looking for quality check him out.
Like my twin mentioned, PTG is the reamer man to contact..... and he has lots of other neat stuff you'll want.......:D
Read all those books about it you can hunt up to, they will be lots of help to you........

Brownells is a great company I agree.
There are other things in their catalogue that you may be interested in also. Blueing and many jigs and parts.
They just recently bought Sinclair international too.
Good luck on this and have fun.
My older twin Preacher has told it straight also.
He's alway there if you have a question. Hi Twin"""'
