Lathe for sale, Greenville TN

Currently listed on GovDeals.com. The lathe is a Lux Matter 13x40 with a 3 and 4 jaw chuck, steady rest and face plate. The lathe is a Taiwanese lathe manufactured by the Jashico Machine Mfg. company in 2000. (listed under tools all types)

I came across this while surfing. It may be junk or it may be a tattered treasure. Having done some adjunct community college vocational instruction I will state that the condition depends a lot on the caliber of the instructors.

Many of you that follow the gunsmithing threads seem to be looking for a lathe from time to time and more than a few live in TN. Thought I would pass this info on in return for the valuable information I have received from this site.

The Lux Matter 13x40 is quite a good lathe. I bought one new a few years ago and it has been and excellent machine. I have been happy with it. As the OP said though, condition is everything when buying a used lathe.

That's the lathe that I have & I'm perfectly satisfied with it. I acquired mine from the late Mickey Coleman & he had elevated feet made for it. Without them, I could see it being 4-5" too short & requiring you to stay *stumped over* for hours at a time. There's no telling the number of barrels that have been chambered on it!

They have 4 lathes listed. Bids are pretty low currently. A Tiawan Jet and 3 Lux Matters. If I was closer it would be tempting. If the ways arent beat up theses will be a bargain.
