Pull my finger
Elk hunting was hard this year. Wife drew a limited quota tag for one of the hardest to draw areas in Wyoming. We hunted almost every day. Hwy was closed 2 days due to a snow storm. Saw lots of elk. She had 4 good opportunities, but just couldn't close the deal. Finally today a friend of ours whose family is like one of ours took her out. Last day to hunt. Her and Amy went out in this area 5 years ago and wife bagged a 340 bull. This year they hunted all day seeing nothing. Then heading to another area they came across a herd. She had an any elk tag but shot this cow because it gave her the best shot. Dropped about 4:30PM on the last day of the hunt. Mod 70 Winchester light weight carbine in 270, 130 Nosler Partition. 300 yds. Pass through both lungs. Fell where it stood. Best part is I went out to recover as they were in the Jeep. Backed up to it.
