Laser Bore Sighter

This might not be the right format for this question. I need to get a Chamber Laser Boresighter for a 6BR, or one that might fit in the chamber, I use it to set up my chronograph for test loads. So that I don't shoot my chrono, I can set up without one, but not as quickly or as accurately. I can't locate one, maybe because they don't make it.
thanks, Bob

i just use a cheap laser pointer, that i get at the hardware store. when i'm set up i lay the pointer on top of the barrel, with a piece of cardboard behind the chrony.

I just use the universal "drop in the bore" type like the Bushnell,

Got mine a few years ago and use it just as you describe, to help with Chrony set up,. Look around for awhile and you can find'm for $20 or so

This is what I use but make sure you have a surefire way to not shoot the gun with the laser in the bore - its too easy especially if you are distracted.

I always put the plastic sleeve that the laser come into the trigger, that way its hard to fire the gun without first running into the sleeve.

remove your bolt and lay the bore sighter in the action. it will shine right down the barrel and you cant forget to remove it.

Use a string that is attached to the front ring of the scope mounts and lead it out to the chrony, a nice easy cheap way of lining it all up and it is very very less expensive than a lazer whatchawhatever.

To be honest, I went with the low tech way for many years. I would sight the gun in to the target on a lead sled and go out with the chrony, put it down and look down the screens until the barrel lines up. It worked well until I shot the supports two times before I went with the laser.

Don’t knock it as expensive high tech wizardry because it is actually very cheap – Cabela’s laser boresighter cost me around $35 (it’s $50 now) and it is no different than a string except it is absolutely fool proof. If you don’t believe it, do it the old way and then with a borrowed laser and see how far you can be off?

The problem is with the low tech method, you are OK most of the time but since you are really guessing since you can be a few degrees off and you will never know it and bam your chrony has been shot. With the laser, not only are you in no danger of shooting it but you KNOW that it is going exactly through the sweet spot and you won’t get one of those “ERROR” statements after the round is gone…. There is a REAL reason why people take the trouble to do it this way.
