Large magnum rifle primers in 284 shehane

What powder are you using? Most likely it will work, but your ES & SD's will be all over the place. Back down your load and work back up to your velocity.

Yes, I use magnum primers in my Shehane. I use H4350 behind 143HH and 168 class bullets.

I rarely use Large Rifle Magnum Primers for anything anymore, Large Rifle primers work better and give me much better ES/SD for my long-range rigs. I do use Magnums for loads over 85 grains or when using heavy charges of ball powder as they are harder to ignite.

Good info
Just was asking because large rifle primers are hard to find. Magnums seam to be in stock everywhere

Never tried magnum primers in mine. S&B standard LR have produced excellent results. Lots of guys run BR2's with good success. The old russian wolf primers were apparently one of the best primers you could run in a 284 when they were available.
