it's the new Shiraz Dasher reamer. Is it the old Norma Dasher reamer or the new Shiraz Dasher reamer? Matt
Just like duckhunt said if your head size at 200 line is ok you are going to have a longer lead to your lands an you will have to keep tabs on your carbon ring ring an longer throat if you put longer throat on shiraz reamer. They should work. They will be a little short but that won't hurt. Not sure about diameter at .200 line. Matt
That is what I was concerned with.Just like duckhunt said if your head size at 200 line is ok you are going to have a longer lead to your lands an you will have to keep tabs on your carbon ring ring an longer throat if you put longer throat on shiraz reamer.
do you know wha the lead is on shiraz reamer is.That is what I was concerned with.
Thanks George
A very good point TimThe Norma Dasher has .104" which is about .035" short to my liking so this may work out really well to use Lapua brass. Just keep the area in front of case mouth clean with Iosso and nylon brush.
If the bullet doesn't sit far enough out the case you will hit pressure quicker. MattYou have to remember that the Norma Dasher has a longer chamber (neck). 1.605
The free bore .104 starts after the chamber length. The Lapua chamber
Is shorter Generally 1.555-1.560. If your concerned with long bullets into the
neck shoulder junction with Norma .104 free bore. Don't be
In my opinion .125 is just a little to short. I would consider .135 absolute minimum and I like .155 way better. It's not only about staying in front of the donut but pressure as well. I could run 34 plus Varget in almost all my Dashers and reach 3100 easily. I could do that without wrecking brass. MattThe Norma brass runs about .050" longer in the neck than formed Lapua brass. To take full advantage of the length you would have to use the Norma Shiraz reamer or an equivalent. If you do that you can reduce the freebore to the stated .104 (compared to .125") and still be .030" further fwd of the neck/shoulder junction. If you want to shoot some of the longer flat based bullets as well as some of the shorter BTs in one barrel that is a big plus.
When you run that much lead how bearing surface do you have in the neck just say touching the lands. In my opinion .125 is just a little to short. About half the neck with a 105 VLD .010 in the lands.. MattWhen you run that much lead how bearing surface do you have in the neck just say touching the lands.
