Lapua Super Long Range update

I bought a brick of the Lapua SLR a month ago and was very impressed with it in my factory barrel and the Shilen ratchet twist on my Bergara B14R. I figured I might get lucky if I ordered a few more bricks from the same place and get more of the same lot number, I didn't and got 3 bricks of a different lot. To say I am impressed with the consistency between these two lots is an understatement. The group was shot with 5 rounds of each lot for a total of 10 shots @ 50yds. The chrono data was 10 rounds of each lot.

OK Joseph.... I'll ask for all of us. How did it shoot at other distances? What distances? Give us some specifics please. Photos of the groups with additional information would be nice.... Please?

;)

It can be very difficult to assess consistency of MV when the sample size is only ten rounds. Ten round ES figures of 35fps and 21 fps may be less promising than initially appears.
I was more getting an idea how close the two lots ran to each other, I was impressed with a difference of 3fps average mv between the two lots. At $22 box I'm not going to waste too much of it. I really want to put it on paper at distance and see how the vertical string is on it.

I have had it out to 200yds so far and was pleased with the results. I might try and get it out to 500yds on paper Sunday if the weather agrees, I need to true the data for a 500yds ELR match I'm shooting on April 8th. I will post results when I get it. So far though to have two lots shoot so close to the same impressed me.

100 yards on paper, with pics, would go a LONG way with some of us. This particular ammo is in decent supply right now but I've been holding off to see other's test results. You got me halfway there

The weather is supposed to be decent here Sunday, if it's not too windy I'll put some groups on paper at distance and post results. I have 50yds inside with no wind, that is the reason for the 50yds groups. I'm also going to see how my Win 52B likes it today, the only ammo that rifle usually likes is Federal ultra match and Eley black box.

I got out to distance today with the SLR. It was far from an optimal day for ammo testing but with the conditions being what they were I'm not disappointed. It was 35 degrees, super sunny, and a 11-15 mph r to l wind. I caught a moment when the wind stayed the same and managed a decent group, the orange dot was my aiming point with zero wind dialed. As you can see in the other pic the wind was pretty bad, I was aiming a target to the right of it and it strung horizontal. I managed 10 hits @ 250yds on a 10" plate, at 410yds I had 5.5 mils of wind dialed and got about 30% hits. The targets shown were 100yds. When I get a better day I will post some better info at distance, today just wasn't the day.

New update.
I shot the Iron Element ELR match Saturday. I never got a good day that I had time to go out and true the data so I just plugged in the advertised bc of .172 and my known 1070fps avg. I am shooting a B14R with a Shilen Ratchet 1-16 barrel. It was great at 100yds, at 150yds it was .6mil low, 3.5mil low at 400yds, and 5.2mils low at 500yds. I trued the bc and ended up at .120 to true the data. This was odd to me for it to be that low but I just saw a post from a fellow shooter that was at the match and had the exact same issue, he ended up with a .121 and was running 1076fps out of a Muller 1-13 24" barrel. With all this being said the sd's are great for 22lr being around 5fps which really matters at long range. I will really be getting out and running this ammo rifle combo through its paces, I was hoping the advertised .172 bc would be close but unfortunately it isn't at extended ranges, at 100yds and in that BC works fine for data.

My Son (Chris K) and a buddy (Randy W) both shot the Iron Event. Their data was right on at the distances. Chris used a multi BC, using .15 out thru 300 or so then it changed to .12 from 360 yards on. It switched when the velocity dropped below 700 fps. They both used Lapua SLR, mirage came in big time for Chris at 400 and 500 yards and spotters could barely see the target alone the shots. The hit he got at 400 the elevation setting was correct but needed 17 minutes of wind hold.

They both felt the ammo was very consistent. Randy shot my match the day before, which he won using Lapua SLR. He verified settings and BC to get ready for the Iron event. I've seen a tad tighter shooting ammo at my matches but he didn't have any wild dropped rounds which is better than a tiny bit smaller grouping ammo that will give you an unexpected erratic round.

That was tough conditions, Chris was #2 shooter which is tough being the wind guinea. Mirage and wind and the berm color behind the targets made for tough shooting. Loved seeing Randy's cheap Savage MK II kick those big dollar guns butt.

Randy showed us all up with that Savage! I don't mind getting beat by Randy though, he is an excellent shooter, I shoot at TVP and Rayners with him too. Other than plinking the Iron Element match is the only 22ELR I shoot, hopefully I will have everything dialed in for next year.

I've struggled with bc in rimfire 300-350. I've done tall target test, environmentals checked and rechecked, magneto speed to check avg muzzle velocity at various temps
Etc.
Can you assign multi bc in ABM
