Lapua Once Fired Cracks

Here’s what happens when a different reamer is used primary reamer was 30/06 second plunge was a 280 Remington look at the results.
Yep! Looks just like mine. I read where HandgunHTR quoted your post on the double reamers. He mentioned that Savage probably worked on the barrel. They did not mention they did anything to it and I can't find the note that was taped to the barrel. What I did find was a receipt for a new Shilen barrel dated within a couple of weeks of getting the Savage barrel back. Thar being said: I might not have shot the old barrel after I got it back. I keep telling myself that there is no way I could have re-loaded the 100 cases I had twice and misses that. Thanks for the photo. Looks like ordering a new barrel this morning was the best way to go. My son is taking machinist courses at tech school now. He is 54 and wants to do his own gunsmithing when he retires. Maybe I will give the barrel to him to practice on.

Regardless the amount of time past I would send off an email to Savage telling them the story with the pictures you posted.

If you would not mind to borescope first half inch of throat and post it here I may have suggestions to help you out.

Is this barrel a good barrel shoots really well and you want to keep it or is it just something until you get another
I have already taken it off and should have a new Shilen Select match prefit Wed. I would like to set it back down the road if you think the rifling looks good enough. Possible another caliber.
