Lapua collet die for edge?

Would one be able to jury rig a 338 Lapua collet die to work with 338 Edge? I have the seater and a 'homemade' f/l body die. Just short a neck sizer and I like the Lee collet system. Maybe someone has already tried this before I order the die. Thanks, Mark

My understanding is that Lee will make you one if it isn't on their standard list.
You may even be able to buy a collet die if you got the $$.
The 338 Edge is based off the 300 Ultra Mag but, unfortunately, that caliber isn't on their list of offerings as standard fare. If so, you probably could use the guts from your 338LM collet die in the 300 RUM body.

Thanks for replies. I actually talked with Lee this am. Was told not to expect any custom stuff for quite a while. I guess they can't keep up.
Swapping guts might be an option however I don't have 300 RUM collet dies right now but I am going to call them tomorrow to see if that might work. The Lapua dies have the large body. Thanks again, Mark

I made one out of a 300 H&H collet

You usually can use the Lee collet die on a longer cartridge by using a washer, but you can't use it on a shorter cartridge unless you totally rebuild the die. Remember, you do not have to size the entire neck and you may bump the shoulder and the case will not chamber.
