Lapua 260 Remington Brass

I admit it, I'm getting lazier about my reloading. When I got in my first batch of 6mmbr Lapua brass some years ago, I checked out a sample of the brass with my flashlight, loaded it and shot it. I shot great and after 7 loadings its still shooting great--at least for a rank amateur like me.

So my question, now that the 260 Lapua brass is finally out there, is how much prep does the brass require? Also how do the primer pockets hold up? I've had no luck at all with Remington brass holding up and I'm now shooting winchester 7/08 necked down.

Thanks for any feedback.

I have been using for about a month in my load testing phase. New run out .002" or less and typical Lapua quality. I have loosened a few primer pockets but these were way over pressure, sticky bolt over. My guess if I had been using Remington 80%+ of the pockets would have been gone @ first firing, 50% with Win 7/08 with loads that were fine with the Lapua, I was trying for 2750-2850 with 140 class bullets and 2900-3000 with 123-130 class. My final load is running 2851 with H4350 and 139 Scenar, Now on 5th load and tight pockets.

I am getting about 2950 with 130 Normas in a 260 AI with a 22" barrel and I have tight pockets. The necks are thicker than my necked up 243 brass and thicker than any other factory 260 brass. I am very marginal with my 'no turn' .297 neck now that that I have switched. It is far better than anything else.

I am considering getting a 260 but do to lackof brass I have not I just checked midway they don't show haveing Lapua who has it in stock, I to am getting lazy and don't care to neck down or up just want to load and shoot

I bought mine from Brunos, it was $ 91.00 a 100. I did a search for Lapua 260 Remington brass and then checked all the places to find the lowest price.

Last time I was in there, Brunos still had about 15,000 pieces in stock. He is $.25 a piece cheaper than Midway. He bought more 260 brass than any other vendor in the world.
