Lapua 144?

Anybody have any experence with the Lapua 144 Gr. 6.5mm bullets? I have been using the 139 in a 1x8 twist 260 and they shoot very well.

I have shot a few of the 144s, and they are a FMJ-BT bullet, fairly dissimilar to the Scenar.

They never shot nearly as accurate as the 139s, at least for me...

Stan, I'm familiar with two top level shooters who use the 144 FMJ and are very satisfied. I use the 30 caliber D46 from Lapua, another FMJ, rebated boattail design and they are very, very good. I'll say simply that it's worth trying them, because if your barrel likes them and you load appropriately for them, they are a very accurate bullet and not at all fussy about seating depth.

Thanks I have been trying some RL17 and showing much better velocities while maintaining accuracy and thought it might drive the bigger bullet. I will just have to give them a try. That 1000yd game can be frustrating but very habit forming.

A few (ok, a lot!) years late, but I will add some info. I have some older factory Lapua Match 6.5x55 with this bullet. The velocity is listed approx 2500 fps. I do not have the box in front of me to confirm but it is a serious looking cartridge. Have not fired it. COAL 3.15 inches.
