If the center section is flat and parallel, you will only need one side of the outside pieces flat.

Butch not to argue but if the laminates are over a 1/4-3/8" clamps will work fine. Under a 1/4" vacuum or a press is the way to go. Thin layers and clamps will not work as you cannot get it even enough and it will pull one way or the other. You will be able to see it with no trouble. Ask me how I know!
