Ladder test

300 at a minimum. Preferably 500+ in my experience.
I performed a ladder test at 600y which gave 3 possible node ranges each cluster measured 1.5 inches i choose the middle cluster node however verticals and accuracy at 1000y were not as tight as expected so i now perform Ladder tests at ranges i intend to shoot before fine tuning with seating depth etc.
If I happen to have 2 loads that are working pretty close to each other accuracy wise, I will take it to a 600 or a 1000 yard match to see how they perform against each other. BUT, that is after I have GOOD loads that I an having trouble making my mind up on. Often a "shoot off" will give me the nod one way or the other.
