Ladder Test Opinions...??

338 Lapua Ladder test at 600 yards. I think I know... I just want to get some more opinions to verify what I see.. It's 3 shots of each load .3gr apart... did a few extra just for insurance...

Really hard to make out the picture. What I look for is 3 consecutive charges with the nearly the same vertical. If I shoot more than one shot per charge (usually do 3 each), I usually do it on a separate target so they don't get cluttered. I also use a chrony to compare velocities.

Can you post a link to a higher resolution pic? Maybe that will help.

Why don't you graph the vertical for each group in Excel? Use a horizontal line across the bottom of your target as a reference point.

IMHO you need to know where each shot is on the paper. I do not shoot at 600 yards, and that may make it tough. At 100 or 200, if shooting individual shots loaded .1 or .2 grains apart, I shoot each at a different but identical bull. Then I can easily plot "groups" of various combinations to see where the center point of the best "group" is. I sometimes load 3 of one charge, and then another 3 .2 grains higher etc. In that case, I would shoot each 3 on a separate bull. However that is not a strict Audette ladder test.

You don't give much data. What bullet are you using?

300gr berger otm. Im going to leave retumbo alone for the time being... H1000 showed way better results... 50% better easily...
