LabRadar under range baffles

I'd say our solid steel, angled baffles baffles covering the first 100 yards are about as significant as one can get

I'm basing my statements off experience with RF design and surveys. It has left me with the conclusion is that it's often not simple. But, I have not specifically worked with radar. You're free to draw your own conclusions.

Another key is stability.

If the muzzle blast (even slight) rocks the radar, you'll get failure to acquire. Don't let the radar wobble, at all.

Not true. I rock the hell out of my radar with the muzzle blast from my 300 NMI and 338-375R. So much so that I’ll often blow the battery door off the unit. Still reads every shot.

With baffles? Interesting. If I’m too close to the muzzle I seem to have trouble. Always assumed it was the wobble.

I suppose if your stand is really wobbly it would mess it up. A good stable stand is a must in any situation. My small CF tripod is rock solid. Even when I get a blast good enough to knock my battery door off, the radar remains on target. I have since taped the door shut.

On a large caliber with a muzzle brake, I like to place it back by the receiver just ahead of the ejection port and up tight to the rifle. With an un-braked rifle, you put it close to the muzzle but just behind it
