Labor Day/ Grand Opening AR500 Target Sale

Hello fellow shooters.

I've been active on the North Texas BR shooting circuit and a member of this community for a few years. I'm in the manufacturing business and have partnered with some gents in the online sales/ order fulfillment business. We've started Field & Cave Outfitters, LLC to market & distribute products that are designed and manufactured primarily in Dallas, TX by Custom Mfg Co. Custom is a 70 year old family owned fabricator & CNC machine shop. We've been making targets for over 30 years, but have never had an efficient, direct to consumer channel for distribution. Now we do! We became an official sponsor this morning and are ready to move some product.

I ordered 6 last night. Just wondered if you were going to make any 1/2" or thicker. At what distance can I expect good performance with the ultra mags and .375 thick AR500?

First, thanks for your business!

Regarding the ultra mags and 3/8" AR500, i think you should be safe at 500yards +. Make sure to allow them to swing when mounting. A slight forward lean will help too.

As far as thicker targets go, we can make about anything you want. The huskiest plate we have on hand is 1/2" AR550 (and we have a BUNCH). We'd be happy to cut you some. You can fill out a custom request online at this link:

I have been using his silhouette targets, site-in plates and custom made Varmint bench rest targets for years and every single piece was well thought out and perfectly made. Travis is very clever and it shows in the design of his targets. I just looked at the new web site and was surprised at the low prices for the AR500 target sets.

All laser cutting is not created equal. We've learned over the last 15 years cutting wear parts for recycling machinery. We minimize the HAZ with water assisted cutting. All three of our Amada lasers are outfitted with WACS. It makes a measurable difference!
