LA 300 WSM?

Anyone here ever build a long action 300 WSM? Just wonderin'

No, but single feed a s/a throated for the heavies. I ended up going back to 175-180gr bullets.

My 300 WSM is a long action, single shot; a BAT 3LL. It has a long freebore for 230 grain Bergers and the big port makes it easier to fish the brass with no ejector. Cartridge OAL is 3.250".

10" twist with a .280" freebore. I have also been shooting them in .308 Win at ~2470 fps with excellent accuracy. If I could keep them from hopping on the bipod, it would be an excellent match load.

Anyone know the velocity difference seating 180-190 gr. bullets to the base of the neck vs. into the case at a powder charge to produce equal pressures? Seems to me that I read a test by Nosler that showed little difference. Suspect that the heavy long bullets would show a decided advantage.

i am still working out the bugs on mine. i either need to slightly open up the bolt face or trim the base on the casings

Long action or Long MAGNUM action???

it was a long--mag. if I am not mistaken, they are the same length just different bolt faces. take that for what it's worth

Have done it.
REMINGTONS. If you build on a regular long action you will have to have the feed lips opened on the action as the width of the case is to wide for the regular long action. If you start with a Ultra mag action it's fine. Mine had .230 freebore I was shooting the 215's and the 210's

Yes i have a 300wsm on a long action repeater. OAL of a loaded rnd is around 3.100. Feeds and shoots great.

Although mine was a 7WSM, rather than a 300WSM, I built one on a Stiller TAC300 repearter. COAL is 3.100 ish. Feeds fine, runs on 300WM magaines. You need to tweak the feed lips a touch to get it to feed smoothly.
