If you have information as to a brand of trigger or person who can achieve a pull
weight of 4to6 oz. on the existing trigger by modification please respond.
Internet search hasn't provided what I need. Thanks, LDS

I've worked a few down. 10-14 is doable on a factory trigger but it takes a lot of time to get there and the safety will need some serious re fitting. Any less and it would need more levers. There is the factory box for the PPC bench rest model but there's not a lot of them out there.

All my A series Sakos break around 12-14oz, unfortunately thats as good as its going to get if you have any plans on closing the bolt without having the pin drop. For the newer 75 and 85s you can get B&A but I doubt you will find a trigger on a shelf for that action that will do 6oz, if you can find a Canjar your in luck

Maddco in Queensland, Australia, at one time made a lightweight replacement trigger for the L series Sako rifles. I don't know if they are still in production.

Contact details in the following link:

They might have a web site and/or email address but I haven't been able to find it.

The link wouldnt open for me. Thanks for the try. LDS

I don't know why - it works for me. Here are some contact details that I found on another site:

If they cannot help you, I don't know what you can do. As other posters have said, there is no way of getting the standard factory trigger down to a let-off weight in the single-ounces range. Canjar has been out of business for many years, and the Sako factory Target Trigger for the 'L' series hasn't been made for a long time, either.

Timney used to make a replacement trigger unit for the 'L' series - maybe still do - but it is just a basic two-lever type which will probably not achieve what you want. A former club-mate of mine had one on a Sako L61R, and was somewhat disappointed with it. He said that as far as a crisp, light let-off was concerned, it was only a very slight improvement on the original factory trigger.

Good luck.

The Timney is only advertised @1.5 lbs at its lowest point.

I was finally able to go to their website or so it seems. I saw no info relating to
trigger manufacturing. LDS

Larry: I found a post in the Gunsmithing forum on the Sako Collector's Club site started on 10 December 2017 where the O P said he had just fitted a new Maddco trigger to a Sako.
I've posted a reply asking him if he knows if they are still available, and if so, where they can be obtained

Thanks I appreciate the help. Be waiting your answer. LDS

I got a very quick reply from the poster on the Sako Collectors Club. Apparently Maddco IS still making the Sako 'L' series triggers, but it sounds like they are either a 'limited production' job, or are 'made to order', so don't expect quick delivery. Link to the thread on SCC follows. Hope it works for you.

Good luck.

I would second a Canjar, I have one on my L461, it is exceptionally crisp whether on set or not.

If the Maddco doesn’t work out, this would be what to look for.

Cheers.
