L.E. Wilson 222Rem F/L die

Anyone out there have a threaded (press type) Wilson 222Rem F/L die?

I am designing a reamer to match and Wilson won't tell me the web or shoulder diameters (TOP SECRET/EYES ONLY).

If you have one, what are your shoulder and web diameters after resizing?

Thanks

I don't have one, but just some food for thought.

Most cutter-grind folks are pretty skilled. If you send them the die, they will either inspect it, or CerroSafe the die and back into the reamer dimensions, much like they do with sample cases or unknown chambers.

Unless you are grinding that reamer yourself, maybe have that conversation with your reamer folks and see what they say.

I find it strange that Wilson didn't at least suggest the two chamber reamer dimensions for you even if they didn't want to share their whole die design.

For example, if they said go tight on the SAAMI specs, or offset some amount on those, or something along those lines, it would be trivial. I am assuming you are discussing a chamber reamer and not a die reamer?

There is only 0.001" offset between the ammo drawing and the SAAMI chamber drawing at the shoulder and 0.200"-line to begin with.

Thanks. I didn't think about Cerrosafe.

I actually have a die on order and plan to send that to the reamer maker.

The mystery is why Wilson is so secretive about something so trivial, and I'm going to find out eventually anyway.

All other die makers are happy to share their dimensions.
