KO2M equipment and associated costs?

Say i were interested in getting into KO2M competition.
What kind of glass (scope & spotter) would we be talking about?
Along with cost of said optics.
As well as obvious travel, entrance fees etc.?

Being from PA, where would one go just to practice for KO2M?

Here is a decent article with lists of gear and suggested components. You can look up the costs:

Be aware that there are some significant rule changes which took affect in 2019. Some are very persnickety due to participants trying to game the rules to their own advantage.

All rifles fired in the KO2M are custom built as is all the ammunition. Rifles will run $7,000 - $10,000 without the addition of adjustable rails or the Charlie Tarac device or other 'secret sauce components'. Remember, anything outside the current rules will have to accepted by the ruling body.

Bullets and brass are not cheap but hopefully you can amortize the cost of your brass over several reloading cycles:

Peterson brass, Cutting Edge and Lehigh bullets (although the Berger solids are supposed to be available), standard primers unless you're using the .50BMG case.

In case you're not keeping track and not sitting down, the sponsored shooters have a much easier time when it comes to affording this competition.

Enjoy the search!:eek:;):)

:eek::eek::eek:
And here i was gonna name the team 50 cents.
Cause we don't have big bucks!! :D

I actually found a video from Cutting Edge Bullets with an equipment rundown.

I was surprised to see they were using a max of 35 power on their scopes. :eek:

The geographic and atmospheric conditions on the range usually preclude being able to use the higher power scopes which most of us would prefer. :) Even the longer focal length lenses on the cameras placed closer to the targets get pretty murky come late morning, early afternoon.:( But when you stack that much air between you 3,500 yards, vision will suffer!:eek:;)

I guess there was one around Clearfield but some individuals got access to a key and went up on their own and got smart with the land owner. Now that ended the privilege.... .... jim
