Ko1M -- Target Cam Wiz Wins $4000 in His Sixth-Ever Shooting Match

What are the odds of a guy winning $4000 (and a rifle) in just the sixth shooting match he has ever shot in his life? And that match is an Extreme Long Range contest to boot!

Well that's exactly what happened to Clay Rhoden, the head honcho of Longshot target cameras. Shooting with Paul Phillips' GPG rifle team, Clay won the first-ever USA King of 1 Mile competition. And yes, that was just the sixth rifle match he's ever done.

In the process, Clay had 17 hits in a row (without a miss) at distances out to 1699 yards. He then went 4 for 10 on the next two targets, both actually farther than a mile.

I was pleased to see him win the Ko1M match. When I asked him "What are you going to do with the $4000?", he explained that the money would be used to adopt a child. I was stunned, and humbled. Here is the rifle Clay Rhoden used to win his King of 1 Mile title. It had a new Manners ELR "Light" Stock, BAT Action, Bartlein Barrel, Bix'N Andy Trigger, and Nightforce 7-35x56mm scope.



Oh and yes, Clay's remarkable LR-3 Target Cameras were used in the match. This Ultra HD system can work up to 2 miles on open ground.

I think some guys may have missed the comment, but Clay beat a field of top shooters, including David Tubb, and Clay's own Team Captain, Paul Phillips, a recent King of TWO Miles himself.

Clay hit his first 18 shots without a miss including first shot hit at 1909 yards! Absolutely stunning shooting.

And not bad for a guy who had only shot FIVE rifle matches before this...



Yes this was only his sixth shooting match in his whole life.

The $4000 he won will be used to pay for adoption expenses for a new member of his family.
