Know-your-limit targets

Hello,

I'm looking for some targets for a fun match we have coming up... I'd like something along the lines of a 'know your limit' target... I've seen them in the past where you have a series of five circles or dots... first one is pretty big, say 1.5-2", but is only worth say 10pts. The last one is worth something like 100+ points, enough to be really tempting. The catch is that if you shoot at one of the smaller ones and miss... you lose *all* the points you've earned so far - which is what makes it interesting ;)

I was hoping someone here might know of one or two lurking around the 'Net, so as to save me having to go thru every target repository on the internet ;) If push comes to shove, I can probably cook something up in M$ Excel, but I'd like to see some 'pre-made' ones for reference too.

Thanks,

Monte

Monte,

Jason Baney runs something similar with his SmacktheSmiley.com targets. But you don't have the doomsday scenario with one miss.

Anyway, here's Jason's target--I imagine you could make something similar for your match:

And here is a target with varying bull sizes from Targetworkz:

That 'Hell' target is basically what I'm looking for... with a little less 'extra' on it. Originally I was thinking smaller, much smaller) dots, but the 'worst edge scoring' does make up for that a bit. Interestingly... worst edge favors smaller calibers, best edge, like HP, or Hunter BR) favors the bigger calibers a bit.

I think I can take the 'Hell' target and work from there and cook something up. I'll post it here for general consumption when I get it done.

Thanks,

Monte

Monte,

I see that there's a "stage 2" version of the Hell target that is more difficult as it has white "bites" taken out of the circle. You may want to look at this too:

Here is one I just found. I have a better one but I am not at home and will not be for a few days.

Well, I finally got off my duff and put one together. I was going to use one I'd found earlier that had some other evil stuff on it,like a weak-side string), but our round count got curtailed, so I had to come up with something else.

See the attachments. One is a PDF for those of you who just want to print it out, and the other is the original Excel file for those who want to 'doctor' it and make their own.

The circle sizes are 2", 1.25", 0.75", 0.5", and 0.25".

Good luck!

Monte
