It's been about 2.5 years since I've slung up and shot. A while back I bought a rifle (R700, 6BR, Eliseo R5, B&A) and shot a few shots from it but hadn't done much else with it. The other day one of my teammates from college posted a target he shot with his 40x in 6XC on FB and I'll have to admit I was jealous. It was -10* in Fairbanks and during the workweek (sunset ~3pm). Today it was above 0 so I took my rifle and some ammo that's been in an ammo box (Lapua Factory) in my car for a while off to the range. It took me a few shots to get a zero and then I shot a string of 10. Overall, I was happy that I put 7 in a ~1/2in cluster at 100 yards. If I'd had my spotting scope, I'd likely have seen my group at 3 o'clock in the 9 ring (100yd smallbore target). I think I'm going to have to order some appropriate targets and some cheaper bullets and maybe wait for some warmer temps and see if I can't keep them together. The highest two and lowest one were sighters.
