Kimber 84m safety sticking

So I finished up this model 84M I put a custom barrel on and when I went to test fire it today the safety going from the firing position back to the middle position or all the way back on safe is really hard to move. So I took the safety lever off the bolt and it was full of sludge along with where the spring and ball bearings sit so I took those out and cleaned everything thing up.

I lube the parts and put them back together and it is a little better but still really hard to move from firing to back on safe. I have tried polishing the parts and it made it some what better but still hard to move. Going forward is fine moving back from fire to safe is tough. I did notice when I go from the middle position back to safe I can see the firing pin moving by the bolt shroud. I have spent a few hours on this and am at a loss on what is causing the lever to move that hard from firing to safe. Anyone ever come across this?

Im not familiar with the Kimber M84 safety, but i have had this problem with Win m70 safeties before. If the safety works like a M70 does then you need to remove & or polish the firing pin in the back notch becuase the safety lever is not camming over in the right spot to engage the firing pin.

You can see where the notch is cut in the firing pin ( big red arrow is pointing to where the problem is) this is where the safety lever cam's over to hold the firing pin back. I used a dremel to remove some material becuase the safety was not lined up with the notch in firing pin. As i siad before i do not know if this is the same on a kimber m84 but thats what i normal do to a 3 position safety on a Win m70. Hope that helps!
