Up for Sale is my Kimber 8400 Montana 6.5/300 WSM, includes the Leupold 3.5-10x40mm M3 Long Range 3/4 Mil-Dot scope in Steel Mark 4 rings on top of a Murphy Precision 20 MOA pic mount made from Titanium.

The rifle and scope are both in mint/like almost in new condition for a twenty year old rifle with only a few scratches on the scope finish from my bino bag while hunting with it, and a rub mark on the blind mag portion of the stock from being mounted into a Pig Saddle. Which I will show pictures of any flaws the best I can.

I bought the rifle new in 2004, and put only 95 rounds throughout it before sending it to Shilen, Inc. Kimber did a tune up on the trigger after buying it in 2006. It's super crisp like most Kimber Rifles.

Specs: Shilen Select Match #4 Ratchet 4 groove 1:8" Twist 24" bbl. All work was completed by Shilen (06/15/2011) other than opening up the stock that they had someone else do.

Comes with:
#5) 50 ct. New bags of Winchester 270 WSM brass.
Redding Custom 6.5/300 WSM Reloading Die Set along w/the Replacement Bullet Seating Micrometer #09167 VLD to the set.
#40) 6.5/300 WSM 140 gr SMK ammo 66.5/Retumbo, F215M @ 2.950" COAL 3055 fps. (These were developed only for practice on steel.)
#14) 6.5/300 WSM 140 gr Sierra Game King Ammo, 65.0/Retumbo, F215M @ 2.890"-2.900" 3050 fps.

The rifle as it sits today 11/21/2024 has only 143 rounds down the barrel now, but I will shoot 7 @ 100 yards, and 250 yards to show how well it preforms, and/or chronograph it again as it's been a while. So it will have 150 rounds through it in the next few days if I do that when the weather stops snowing or raining.

I'll more than likely end up hating that I sold this super accurate light weight hunting rifle setup, but honestly, I hate recoil! All of my competition NRL/PRS rifle are in the 14.5-18 pound range, and not anything bigger than a 308 Winchester! I have a Lon Paul 458 Lott that weighs 9.5 lbs., but that's only for dangerous game hunting, and a Custom GAP 280 AI for the rest of my hunting needs.

If it does not sell... Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be!

$3,250.00 USPS MO, Personal check after it clears, or Zelle. Shipped to your FFL from My FFL, or FTF local CdA, ID.

Cross listed, any prior sale may effect a “I’ll take it”. I’m not interested in playing with people’s emotions when thinking they have bought something, and finding out something else after the fact. It’ll go to the time stamp on the forum if it gets down to that.

Pictures to fallow ASAP.

The Leupold M3 comes with the box, paperwork and the four (4) elevation caps that correspond to the original ammunition used in these scopes. 223, 308 168 SMK, 30’06, and the 190 gr SMK Navy 300 Win. Mag. Load which this combination matches perfectly! Dial the yardage, add or subtract to the exact yards, or dial in MOA, and send it. It’s worked flawlessly for me for 13 years in the field further than I’ll take a shot at an animal…. Ex, wild dogs.

Target was shot just prior to our hunting season a month and a half ago off a bipod using the 140 SMK. THE 140 Game Kings shoot better as that’s what I used to develop for my hunting load.

Here’s a three shot group I shot today at 100 yards off a bench with a bipod attached to the rifle using the 140 Sierra Game King load I developed in 2011 for the gun.

I shot it the other day at 250 yards and honestly even with replacing a 1.5” dot to a 2” dot target I had a tough time holding in the same place because I just couldn’t see it well enough. (As seen on the cardboard below).

It’s not like banging steel that you just hold on it and fire. Which is way easier than holding it to a 2” yellow Mountain Dew dot at 250 yards away.

The rifle/load is super accurate as you can see… further away more magnification would help on paper. That said hunting is more or less building a steady position and a proper aim point for success.

I’ve decided to sell the rifle without the scope.

It’ll include everything above except the Leupold M3 rifle scope and mark 4 rings.

$2,550.00 shipped in a plastic case and boxed from my FFL, East County Guns to your FFL.

Brass, Redding die set, and ammo shipped to your home address.

Don't see a long range varmint gun in your arsenal. I have a Cooper 21 Phoenix in 20 Tactical I'd trade for it. I have brass and dies for it also. Super accurate. Let me know if you have interest and I'll shoot you some Pic's.

Hello, thank you for the offer, but I don’t have a need for something like that.

Very much appreciated though.

If you’re interested in buying it outright, I have a 10% discount this weekend on the rifle without the scope.

That’s $2,295.00 shipped and insured.

I have a 6.5WSM that I had made with an old match barrel on a Rem action 12+years ago. 120gr ballistic tip and anything you shoot at inside of 500 yards, DIES!!!!

Smoking deal right here in an excellent caliber! GLWS

I'll take this rifle with everything pictured except the scope. To include 30mm rings, tactical base, dies, brass bullets, and ammo.
