Kidd Supergrade

I have had a Kidd Supergrade 5 years. It shoots great. It has always, at times not go completely into battery, and will snap "misfire" and just dent the rim. I scrub the chamber and run a Ripcord thru the barrel, thing go better. Two of my friends have one and it does the something. I have the middle weight spring in the gun, Do I need change to the heaver spring?
I have talked to Kidd, they say run a bore snake thru it and change the mag.
I may have to clean it more. Anyone having the same problem?
I am going to clean it good today and get a round count then it misfire.
I have a Ruger Target that I shoot speed steel with. It has 2000+ round without cleaning, stiill running great.

I have been cleaning the chamber every 200 to 250 rounds then pull a ripcord thru, I have not had a problem so far.

FTF/FTE-I was looking around at Kidd Supergrade info and came across this post. You run across many tips in over 65 yrs of shooting guns. One excellent source that disappeared with the death of Larry Carter, LGI Guns, was his troubleshooting tips for Bentz, Match, and Super Match chambered guns. I have never seen his technique fail to work in years of bullseye and/or match-grade type firearm shooting. This pertains to everything from SW41 to high-end European match guns.

First, Larry was a firm believer in using European .22 LR ammo because of the higher manufacturing standards. He summarized that 9 out of 10 feeding problems could be remedied by properly cleaning the chamber. The chamber is slightly bigger than the main barrel so that snakes, bore brushes and the like don't fully address the dirty chamber area. When cleaning the chamber, use a .25 caliber brush bent in an "L" so that the "L" end only cleans the chamber and not the throat of the barrel. I have found rifle benchrest brushes in .243 or .25 work great. The .243 is a bit easier on the fingers when rolling the brush from side to side. I have used nylon and brass brushes for this task. I have spun the brush by hand if the barrel is accessible from the rear using extreme caution so as not to engage anything but the chamber area. Next, use Breakfree or some favorite CLP/Oil on a patch pulling it through the barrel. Once the chamber is clean, then you should be able to just drop a round into the chamber. If it does not chamber with ease, then repeat the procedure. Larry's ammo suggestions were Eley, Lapua, SK, Wolf and RWS.

Second, keep the mags clean with .22 LR ammo. I recently disassembled my Walther GSP Expert mags to find an incredible amount of residue. Bullseye shooters probably put more rounds through .22s than most people. It doesn't seem possible to see this amount of residue but it does adversely affect the spring and follower function.
