Those of you in the NW have likely heard of Kesselring's Gun Shop in Sedro Woolley, WA and I know guys outside of the NW have heard of them as well. They've been a fixture in WA for a long time.

Their inventory is going into public auction on March 27 and 28 - everything is up. Guns (rifles, shotguns, pistols), optics, components, reloading equipment. Everything. My guess is it's going to be an unbelievably huge list since they carried a lot of stuff.

James G. Murphy Co. is doing the auction and they run an online LIVE auction as well as onsite. So you can participate and possibly get some smokin' deals even if you aren't local.

I've heard several stories why but in any event it's definetly a loss. I've wondered how the Sportsman's Warehouse and the Cabelas that has opened near by in recent years has affected their sales.

I don't know the answer, but I do know that competition had nothing to do with why their inventory is up for auction.

Haydon's website says they are 'retiring' whatever that means, NW WA is taking some hits sounds like.

Bought my first rifle at Kesselring's. Trip to Kesselring's and Skagit Speedway was always a good saturday.

I hate to see the Kesselring's era come to a close, I purchased my Anschutz 1413 supermatch from Ron about 37 years ago and still shoot it today. Ever since Ron retired, the place hasn't been the same. pricing turned bad and the customer service went along with him as well, I think the ones left just didn't know how to operate a business successfully.

I tried to purchase a CZ from them for my son a few years ago and had to put in an order for it. On my way home on a whim I stopped in at Skagit Arms, they had the rifle in stock and for $100.00 less to boot, so I made the purchase and cancelled my Kesselring order.

In the early '80's I lived on Lopez Island and a trip to the "mainland" was not complete without going to Kesselring's. It was a small shop with the best quality inventory. Once,I was looking for a .22 rf rifle and they told me that Kimber of Oregon was a very nice rifle!
