Kent Reeve is Da’Man

This past weekend I had the great pleasure of being squadded with Kent Reeve at the Reade Range Palma Regional. We shot a Palma plus 20 at 1000 yards on Saturday and another Palma on Sunday for an 1100 aggregate. On Saturday Kent dropped an amazing one point. Sunday Kent followed up with an Awesome 450-37X. Needless to say everyone there was impressed.

Kudos also go out to Bill Gelet for a fine, normally winnng 1194 score for second place including two 449’s

If you haven’t been to the Reade Range in Pa, try to make it. Tom Ferraro, Allen Castle, Dave Shellhammer and the others run a first rate match every time. Plus they feed you which is great also. Tammy Is at least as good a cook as Kent is a Marksman.

Bill, so was that a 1099 agg for Kent? If so, that's a new Palma regional record. Kent is a stud. Did he shoot 2 450's then, or did he lose one in the Saturday Palma and clean the extra 1000? I believe Dan Simpson is the only person who has shot back-to-back 450's so that would be another awesome accomplishment. Would love to see the results, if you could post them.

1099 is correct!
if my memory is right he dropped the one point at 1000 in the first Palma. Then cleaned the 20x1000 with a high X count (14 or more I believe) on Saturday. Sunday was a 450-37 Possibly the most impressive thing I have seen first hand. I will post all the scores once I get them.

Eric, Dan did shoot back to back 450's. I shot at that match too. It was the regional course, and I think he "surrendered" 5 points (my memory is sketchy) at the in between 1000 yard match. That had to be in the late 1990's or very early 2000's.

No disrespect to either Kent or Dan, but I seem to recall that I saw a match result, within the past 7 years, where a woman shot back to back 450's at the Arizona State Palma Championship (?). Beyond that, in addition to Mr Reeve, I can think of a few people that have the ability to do that.

I hadn't heard about the back to back 450's in AZ, but I'd have to guess maybe it was Nancy? Last year Oliver Milanovic shot 450's on Friday and Sunday at that match, but had a 448 (I think) in the Saturday Palma. Still awesome shooting. I agree there are some others out there with the ability, but having the ability, the opportunity, and the condition all present at the same time is the hard part!

Yup. The only reason it sticks in my mind was that the X count was in excess of 30 for each of them.
