Kelblys 6ppc

I am about to have my very first LV benchrest gun built in 6ppc. I know that Kelblys make a great action and decided to go with the panda action as well as their klub stock. Not sure about barell length or maker yet. My question is could they build my complete gun just as well as a well know smith. I ask this because I'm sure many hands work on a gun at Kelblys as to a single gunsmith. I would think that maybe the advantage would be in lead times also if I went the kelblys route but don't want to sacrifice accuracy. Any thoughts or opinions Would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Kelbys 6ppc

I would have absolutely no reservations about Kelbly building a complete gun. It is most likely the most expedient avenue. Go to Kelbly's website under "about Kelbly's Inc", and click on each individual pictured. You will find your rifle will be built by craftsman who excel at what they do.

Remember this is my opinion only.
The one thing I would recommend changing in your plan would be the stock you have chosen.
If I were going to invest the money for a new BR rig I would go with the most current match proven design for my stock. A person can't over emphasize the importance of how well the rig tracks in the bags.

I don't know if Kelblys will build with a Scaborough a Scoville or a Leonard stock. If they wouldn't it would be a deal breaker for me on a new build. I would then find a used rig built on one of the above stock platforms and have a smith fit a fresh barrel.
My thoughts on it, for what it's worth

I have a viper in a KLP stock I also have a Hall in a Scoville.
The KLP is not in the same hemisphere

I would not hesitate to have kelbys build you a LV BR rifle.
I would go with a dual port panda, KLP stock, Bix trigger, Krieger 13.5 barrel in a .262 neck

Rigs like this come up fairly regularly. All they need is a fresh barrel.

This one actually lasted a week or so
