Kelbly stopped by Bayou Rifles

Turbulent Turtle

F-TR competitor
Yesterday, Jim Kelbly and his son stopped by Bayou Rifles during the monthly Mid-range (600 yard) match. They put up a stand with, I believe 8 March scope so that folks could look through them at the targets 600 yards away. They also had a display of about 7 rifles, all Kelbly actions, of course, fitted with various stocks, scopes and barrels.

They answered a lot of questions for the folks who stopped by at intervals during the match. As you can guess, of the 42 shooters who were there, several had Kelbly actions in their rifles and a few had March scopes. Jim was definitely in friendly territory.

The Kelblys stayed for the duration of the match and we guided their genormous travel trailer and truck safely out of the range and Jim showed that he was as adept at driving the rig as he is making great actions and rifles.

Jim, thanks for stopping by and affording us the opportunity of looking through the scopes and fondling some nice rifles. I heard a lot of good comments from various shooters and we all wish you safe travels.

Thanks again and see you at some match in the future.

I was at that match and viewed the Kelbly products. I have never seen Kelbly build anything but Cadillac equipment. Their rifles (complete rifles) are works of art. AND they are very fine people to visit with! I have never heard anything but positive about these people and it is apparent why.. I have a (and was shooting) a Panda F-Class action, which is one of the finest actions I own..

No. Old age. He's going to some sort of precision rifle competition, I forget where, and other places. Jim might visit this thread, and he can tell you the details.

One point that he made repeatedly is that he loves to visit rifle matches and meet the shooters and his customers. He wants me to send him the schedule for next year as soon as it's available and I would think that anyone who has scheduled matches should contact Jim and get him the info.

I'm sure he's not going to visit all of them but if he doesn't know about your matches, he would never stop by.

Just so you know, he posted that request here a few months back and I had an email going back to him right after he had clicked POST. It just happened to work out. I was worried there for a bit in the week leading up to the match. We got lots of rain and it didn't look good for the day of the match, but as usual, the weather forecasters were wrong.

My son Ryan and I had a great time this last week at Decatur Texas for believe it or not a sporting clays state championship at Fossil Pointe shooting facility. Was a good event for us and I plan on attending the Sporting Clays Nationals next month in San Antonio October 18 - 26. If you are in area stop by and check out March scopes and Kelbly rifles and other products. I am still waiting to hear if I can get in as a vendor. Trying different venues to promote long and short range rifle shooting as well as Kelbly business. The Fossil Point club is a amazing facility that has all types of shooting ranges besides sporting clays. I must commend the owners as over 600 competitors were on site.

We drove Saturday evening to Bayou Rifles area and Sunday morning went to the range. A very nice facility with up to 1000 yards. F class and sling shooters we I believe 40 plus in attendance. We really enjoyed our time there. The match was run spot on and I recommend anyone to shoot there a first class operation. Denys was there to help with everything we needed. Thank you Denys and all shooters we enjoyed our time with you.

The betting man is right we are going to Frost Texas for the PRS finale that we are sponsors of. I am very interested in seeing this competition as I am not familiar with this competition. This will be held at The Rifle Ranch in Frost Texas. Stop by and see us.

We will add a listing to our website on where I will go to display the Kelbly Road Show. Send me your dates for competitions and we will try to get you on our schedule. I know January is hot Show in Vegas and most of February will be in Arizona (funny how that worked out when I could be in Ohio for winter) I need some competitions in March preferable in CA or South west or on way home to Ohio to save on long drives and fuel usage. I am thinking Northwest USA for next August to Fall time. Give me a reason to go NW.

Look forward to meeting our old and new customers and friends

Jim
