Why not a lee six design? My friend bought one and had it bedded and hates the klub and he sold it.Why do you think they call it a klub. I have called their shop and always get an answering machine and they never return my phone calls.I gave up on them. Good Luck.
What will the rifle be used for, in what caliber, and what style of hold, or lack thereof? Another consideration is hand size. Certain styles that are thick through the wrist are better suited for those with larger hands. I shoot a stock that was designed by Speedy as a near copy of the old Adamovich design, that is no longer produced. All of the stocks that have butts that are very short from top to bottom and which are built in a pretty straight line, form front to back, go back to this design, which is intended to have an advantage when shooting free recoil in short range benchrest. Even the popular wood and carbon fiber stocks have that heritage. I like mine, but I have big hands. Others might not. The advantage of the thickness through the wrist area is stiffness. Having the bottom of the butt more in line with the bottom of the forend may be an advantage in terms of how the rifle moves and transfers weight during recoil, when shot free. If that is not your shooting style, I might consider a design that is taller in the butt as being more suitable for being shouldered. The Kelbly stock that you have asked about is their version of a style. You should probably try one before buying. As I understand it, they paid him for his equipment and training, and then had molds made that were better than the originals, and in some new designs of their own. Some of the older designs are pretty close to the original Six designs, the SPG being an example. My stock was made by Lee Six, and I like it a lot. He was a major source in benchrest for a lot of years, and a fine fellow.
Have you sat behind one of this type design before? One little thought, I know a shooter, who is well know for his experimentation that told me, some time back, that for his latest two builds he had ordered the stocks (from Kelblys) with no carbon fiber. This was to decrease resonance, or to put it another way, increase damping. He was willing to trade off some forend stiffness for this feature. I have discussed the issue of vibration damping with Jim Borden, and he agrees that it is very important. The stocks that he used to build, in house, had structural foam laminated, vertically (I think) in the forend, and although this made them slightly heavier, there is some thought that the increase in damping was more than worth the trade off in usable barrel weight. Sometimes we get carried away with one thing, and overlook something else that is more important. One example would be barrel weight in 10.5# rifles. We tend to get into the if some is good, more is better, and too much is just right mode. Quite a while back, as Dick Wright was preparing for one of several articles which were interviews of Tony Boyer, he solicited questions from this the forum members. I suggested that he ask Tony if he would trade barrel weight for rifle balance. He did, and the answer was that he would.
Here is a pic of the one (Klub-made in the new mold as modified by Mr. Kelbley)I used to set the NBRSA 600 yd three target score world record with.....it is a point blank gun with a big full size HV bbl....this takes the gun wt up to 13.5 lbs still a legal HV and VERY capable LG for long range work....these stock are thick thru the comb and you have to learn how to shoot/hold/not hold em...but they shoot and track perfectly....worth the wait....Roger

Jerry started offering them when Speedy decided to teach Gunsmithing in Colorado. If I were going to move from my Kelbly BR FB stocks to new ones, for both my 6PPC and 30BR, it would probably be this one.

I talked to the Stiller folks a few weeks ago. They, like others, are pinched by Robertson going under.
By chance, I also talked to the fellow that bought Robertson's equipment, etc. he wont be ready to make stocks for quite a while. Bye understands that quality is king in BR.
