K&M primer

I used my K&M primer for the first time. I have to say, my hands were killing me after about 30 or so... almost to where I could not squeeze it anymore,had to stop after 50). I tried every form of hand position I could think of.. and it was still a work out. This is even after prepping the primer pocket and only crushing to .002. Is there something wrong with my technique.. or am I doing something wrong? Wearing a glove helped a bit.. but not much.

There must be something wrong with it. I have used one of these tools for many years and never had a problem, even doing a lot of cases at a time. Better send it back to Ken and let him look it over. He is usually pretty quick on getting it back to you.

I don't think there is a problem with the primer itself. The resistance is from the primer & case....

What kind of brass are you seating the primers into?

I too have used this tool for a few years and had very good results.

I am using it w/ new Winchester brass and CCI BR primers. I used it again on some other new brass and it was better/easier mayby 60-70% of the time... but still hard on a number of them. Did I not prep the primer pocket enough? I thought if anything I prepped them too much...

Well, you should not be changing the diameter of the primer pocket at all and it seems that the diameter would cause "DRAG" more so than depth. Never heard of this before. I have that same tool and it works great. I would give Ken a call. He is a very nice guy and may be able to shed some light on your situation. Bill
