K&M Primer Pocket Correction tool depth

Hi all, I have both the large and small rifle primer K&M primer pocket correction tools and cannot figure out how to get the depth set. I know they say they come set to .131 & .122 respectively, but for me they bottom out at ~.1745 & ~.1345. I know you adjust using the set screw, but these measurements are set with the cutter seated as far as possible. Am I measuring wrong or misunderstanding the set depth? Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance.

It’s the camera angle. I measured it first then took the picture. I measured multiple times beforehand to ensure I wasn’t losing my mind haha

Measure a primer cup - disassemble a spent one if need be - for reference, and then stick it up along side the cutter as a sanity check. If you know what the cup measures, and it's visibly off from the cutter, then you have some verification. If not... replace the batteries on the caliper. When mine start giving me stupid numbers, that's usually the quick fix. Probably not anything that simple in this case, but you can always hope.

I have to believe those cutters are not fully bottomed out. I would remove the set screw entirely and see if you can fully bottom them out. Check the holes for any foreign bodies. You could also measure the length of the actual cutter and the depth of the hole to see what kind of number you should see if indeed the cutter is reaching bottom.

I did all of those suggestions: no obstructions, fully bottomed out, and measured the depth vs the length of the cutter. I’m going to ready out to K&M & see what they say
