just wanted to say thanks to this site and the people that help on these forums. without this site and u guys I would be a much worse shot and reloader. I'm having trouble posting pics but I have been getting several. 5-1" groups at 300 with a 223 prone off bipod. whenever I go to the range people have big fancy 300win mag, 338 6.5 creedmore etc. out of led sleds etc. what ever happened to holding the gun in your hands.. yet I always have the best groups with my stock 223. this site and its members are truly the reason for my success. thanks again. ill post the pics if I can.

I've got one of the good ones.... the gun pretty much shoots itself.
Its actually a used savage fcp-k in 223. shoots both hornady 68 hpbt and similar. well. right about 2850fps. imr 4895 and varget are shooting well. best loads thus far being Barnes match burner 69 with varget if u can believe it. got a best 3 shot of. 430" @ 300. I know they aren't supposed to be great target bullets but don't tell my targets.

no. I tried but the metal is like spring metal. keeps coming right back. I think it could be because Ive been loading the rounds in through the chamber straight down instead of taking the mag out and sliding them in from the front. I've just been loading one round at a time. I have an xlr stock on order with AI mags so I haven't been stressing over it.
i had a similar problem one time with a standard rem. 700 in .223...i fought and fought with that thing for weeks...a friend of mine suggested replacing the magazine follower for a new one...sounded dumb to me but it was the only thing i hadnt done...got the new one in from midway and looked at it compared to the old one...they looked exactly the same...put it in and havent had a problem sense..sometimes you just cant see the forest because of all the trees...lol
the last 2 were from a custom ppc at 100. those 5 shot groups are from a bench and yes. the only reason aren't one hole are because I need to be more consistent. I just posted them here on my post because a gentleman on this site wants me get into competitive shooting. i cant seem to send pics through a pm. I finally got a scope on my ppc and loaded some rounds. i shot those groups after only 11 shots for sighting. its an awesome shooter. built by Clarence Hammonds. I posted them to see if I would be competitive off bags with the setup at my local range where he wants me to start. I don't mind the teasing. we always give eachother grief at the range.
