I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
I just bought a 9mm Just Right Carbine from the manufacturer. I was skeptical because it was New York state compliant but it looks pretty neat with a gen 3 Thordsen stock and it uses Glock mags. It is light with a key lock front handguard almost full length of the barrel. It also can be switched to left hand in about 15 minutes once you learn how to take it apart. I had a camp 9 by good old marlin and it ate buffers like skittles but this thing has that beat all to heck in that dept. It shoots good but it has a typical heavy ar-15 style trigger with creep but I really enjoy plinking with it. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a camp gun or just for plinking. The quality is very good to excellent and they come in 9mm, .40s&w, 45acp. They are working on 10mm but it hasnt come out yet. I am trying to talk them into a .22 mag/17hmr conversions for it. They even have a quick take down feature if you want it. If you live in a state that allows it to be normal, then it comes with a standard AR-15 carbine stock and larger mags as well as a threaded barrel sans cap.
