Guffaw! They are no HK..... That aside. They most certainly are no HK and they are not meant to be. They are a fun little gun. My son has one. If I wanted PCC I would buy one knowing it would spend 99 percent of it's time in the safe. If I was going to shoot a PCC more often I would go a different route.Well, if you can get past the peer pressure, guffaws, and since you asked. I bought a used Hi-Point 9mm carbine a few months back and it is a sure nuff fun gun. I've run about 1000 rounds of Winchester hard ball and not once has there been a problem. I put a Tru-Glo Gobbler redot on it and the accuracy is a bit amazing at 50 yards. I got two extra magazines for it and now it doubles as my home defense gun.
They're not expensive, a hoot to shoot and it appears re-sale doesn't go down the toilet. Find one to shoot, I'll think you will like it. Be warned, the trigger ain't nothing to write home about.

The best ammo I found for this carbine is CorBon Powerball. It has a rounded nose so feeds reliably, is 100 grain and expands like a hollow point, and I got velocities as high as 1,750 fps with it. The only ammo that would not feed is CorBon 115g hollow points. They are very stubby and tend to jam in the feeding ramp. Everything else I fed the carbine worked.Well, if you can get past the peer pressure, guffaws, and since you asked.
