Just returned from South Africa hunt

Hi, We just returned from our South Africa hunt. We hunted with Kubusi Safaris, and booked the hunt through EAIoutdoors. The hunt exceed our expectations, the service was 6 star or better! Our professional hunters and trackers were wonderful folks, fun to be around and serious about hunting. They worked very hard to meet our objectives and were truly knowledgeable. This was not a high dollar hunt, and was budget friendly. We took 13 trophies in 7 days, I took 5 and each of my sons took 4 a piece. The animals take were all mature and in good physical condition. Were they all record book animals, no, but they were all good animals(pm me for details/reasons).
If you ever considered a South African hunt take a look at these folks.
My Ratings:
service=A++, food=B, lodging=A(two lodges new one is A+, old one is a B), game quality taken=A, overall rating=A+.
feel free to ask me questions, just PM me and we can set up a time to talk.

Congrats on a great hunt! My wife and I have been to SA once, shot a total of 14 animals. We had the most amazing time as well. I tell everyone that will listen that Africa is the most amazing experience. As soon as the taxidermy is paid for, we plan to go back! She wants a sable and I am itching for a buffalo and a leopard. That might be a couple trips.....

Been three times and going back again next year. When you consider what outfitters are getting for one animal in the U.S. and Canada, a South African safari is a screaming bargain. You can almost do the entire cost including hunt, food, lodging, laundry, local transportation, taxidermy and airfare for the cost of a one animal U.S. elk or moose hunt.

I will second that as I just got back from south Africa hunt. I went with TWO WATERS SAFARIS and was treated like god. it was 1 on 1 and I got 6 great animals. I took my own gun and used my reloads with berger bullets. the owner brian was really impressed with how bullets took down the game. my personal tracker loved me as he never had to do any tracking. he called me sniper! I took 2 kudu=1 wildebeest=1gemsbuck=1zebra and1 eland. no blood shot meat and no cornmeal with shoulder shots. man do I love bergers!

Give use some details on the shots using BERGER'S I'm interested in penetration with quartering shots.
Thanks
Bill

on the quartering shots on big animals in Africa with 210 bergers. I recovered 4 bullets most only went 14 to 15in into animal 2 of them were great mushroom to about 50cal. one weighted 68gr 1 72grs. animals never new what hit them! I had two shoot one at 358yds and had to place shot way back at the angle for the far shoulder. bullet made it all the way in big body to the shoulder. this was on a big eland bull! I have been shooting bergers for 5 yrs. on game most of the time bullet stops on far side. on all animals talk about damage to the lungs!!!

Thats some good performance by the Bergers, those Eland are very big animals with very thick/strong bones especially the shoulders. I have shot a couple animals down here in SA with the Bergers (all dropped like you switched off a trip switch) but I wasn't sure if I would use them on anything as big as Eland, now I know

+1 on the Bergers. Use them exclusively in RSA in my centerfires for the larger plains game. out to 700, after being hit, they don't go far or at all.
