Just about every time.....

Our club sent out an email about a lost load book. The guy had his life's loading data all in one large loose leaf notebook and left it on the range table. Don't know if he ever got it back but I learned to leave mine at home and only take the pertinent sheets to the range and leave the bulk at home.

One of my shooting buddies left his rifle behind - lucky for him the guy who found it was honest and turned it into the club and he got his rifle back.

I double check all my gear before I depart the range. I place my truck key with my posted membership card so I can't leave without my card.

:(Self Confession - last year I left my shooting stick at the farm I was hunting. I had placed on the passenger side of the truck - forgot I put it there and drove off - I was dreaming of all the ghogs I saw and shot that day and mentally planning my next safari. I did retrieve it the next day.

I left my MZ at a range in Almagorda NM and went to the air port to pickup a friend and came back to the same range to check his rifle zero and the range officer came over and asked if we forgot something I was dumb founded could not thank him enough would have been a tough elk hunt. there are some very nice and honest people out there

This thread jogged another memory...

Back in the late 90s, I spent the weekend at the San Antonio Gun Club for the Toepperwein skeet shoot. Got in a shoot off Sunday evening and the prize was a case of Winchester AA .410 shells. I won the shoot off, put my gun in the rack and went inside to collect my shells. Carried the shells out to the truck and left. Drove back to Houston and started unloading the truck. I realized what I'd done as soon as I picked up the gun case. Called SAGC and they had put my gun in the safe. Had to drive back again the next weekend.
